BLODTÅR's Viking Metal is full of energy and absolutely rousing. Driven by icy and thrilling melodies and definitely rough and heavy, the folk influences are integrated in a typically Nordic manner, when I think back at Windir for example. So, this album not only honours Scandinavian legends and history, but also the glorious 90s in terms of musical background. Check "En krona av is", "Skymning" or "Den fördärvande förflutna".

Outstanding! This is the word to describe not only "Strävan", but Murg, as a proficient, unique swedish duo. Their ability to craft ferocious hymns, unsophisticated but with plenty of variety and melodic settings is truly impressive. This is an album that stayed with me over the years and I am sure I will keep it close for many years to come. And after hearing it hundreds of times, it still gives me the chills. Timeless, greatly atmospheric and catchy, this is, beyond doubt, a masterpiece!
